James
Hey guys, I understand that finding a therapist or even starting therapy for the first time can be time consuming or scary. It’s an important investment into your future so take this time to relax. I’ve answered some frequently asked questions that I get from newcomers, just entering therapy. I invite you to take time and look through them in hopes that it can ease some preconceptions of what therapy is like.
About myself, I like to think of my sessions as more of a conversation to allow you, the client, to feel more natural with opening during the process. It’s a smoother transition from identifying your needs and introducing new methods to implement in your life to reduce stressors. My hopes are to facilitate you to conquer your personal goals, obstacles, or whatever needs to make you in control of your life. Most importantly the session is yours. Feel free to direct the session to meet you where you need to be. I am laid back and encourage your feedback during this process, plus it is a good exercise to adopt into life outside of sessions. I do not want to enable negative patterns detrimental to your growth, so I want to put strong emphasis that I am loyal to your needs you addressed. In other words, I am not afraid to call out perceived self-inflicted barriers or behaviors that are contradicting to your personally identified goals and hope you are not, as well. Of course, it will be in a compassionate way, so do not worry and I hope you enjoy the process. Thank you for taking time to visit and I hope to talk with you in the future.
Experience
I come from a background of working in rehabilitation, early intervention, and private practice. My focus has been on life adjustments and major transitions, a wide range of anxiety from social to behavioral adaptions, depression, and variety of addictions pre and post treatment. My treatments are personally driven by your needs as helping identify healthy patterns that we can strengthen and unhealthy patterns that are in conflict to progress. This comes with a broad explanation on the surface but very detailed as we come together and get started on the process. My personal passion is to help you feel empowered and take back your life.
